PRESIDENT TO CONTINUE.

lIOROWIIENUA SHOW ASSOCIATION The Horowhenua A. and P. Association’s goncial committee met this week, the president (Mr A. M. Colquhoun) occupying the chair. In connection with his resignation from tho office of president and membership of the association, tendered to the last meeting of the committee, Mr Colquhoun slated that he had been waited upon by Messrs Lancaster and Kilsby, and as a result bad agreed to withdraw it. Mr Colquhoun said that in times like tile present ho felt it was his duty to do everything he could, to assist tho association’s interests. He realised that difficulties such as had never been experienced previously lay ahead, and it was no time for personal differences between members. He appreciated the committee’s desire that lie should resume tho office of president, and asked that the cordial relations which had existed in tho past continue in the future. Mr Colquhoun concluded by expressing the hope that Mr A. Shaw, who bad also tendered his nesignation, would be back .with the committee at its next meeting. Mr Lancaster on behalf of the committee, voiced pleasure at Mr Colquhoun’s decision, and he also hoped that Mr Shaiv would take a similar view and resume his seat on the committee. lie added that members fully appreciated the valuable woik both Messrs Colquhoun and Shaw had dotio foi the association.
