WANGANUI GIRLS’ COLLEGE.

ANNUAL ENTERTAINMENT. The Palmerston North branch of the Wanganui-Girls’ College Old Girls’ Association held its annual entertainment gathering in tho Business Girls’ Club last evening. There was a fair attendance of members, some coming ironi outlying districts. The gathering this year took a novel turn and all present were privileged to see an interesting display of moving pictures, kindly arranged by Mr R. Fairweathcr and two companions. Among the pictures shown was a very beautiful film of the cherry blossom in the Esplanade, also a travel picture and several items of local interest. After supper, the president (Mrs A. Adcock) expressed gratitude on behalf of the old girls present to Mr Fairweather for giving such an interesting display. All the proceeds are to be given to tho Red Cross Appeal. Mrs Adcock also reminded old girls that the; association is to be in charge of the J patriotic shop early in October and would be grateful for any assistance forthcoming. Mrs Spear arranged a competition which was won by Mrs Brown.
