NEW ZEALAND WOOL.

INCREASED YIELD. According to the statistics compiled by Dalgety and Coq., Ltd., the total production of wool in New Zealand for the year ended June 30, 1940, was 756,071 bales of greasy wool, and 131,900 bales of slipe, a total of 887,971 bales. The estimated carry-over at Juno 30 was 18,865 bales of greasy wool, and 15,000 bales o£ slipe, a total of 33,865 bales. The total gross proceeds of the wool appraised in Now Zealand during the 12 months were: 740,622 bales, 252,868,1891 b, value £12,735,076, average price a bale £l7 3s lid; average price a lb, 12.09 d. During the year 120,990 bales of slipe wool appraised at all centres realised £2,863,144. Average prices realised in the appraisement centres during the twelve months were as follow :
