The monthly meeting of the Palmer- . ston North branch of tlie Women's ■ Division of the Farmers’ Union was held at Messrs Collinson and Gunning-1 liaine’s yesterday afternoon. Airs W. F. Field presided. I It was decided to hold a social after- 1 noon in September, each member to bring a gift for the patriotic shop. Airs Field reported that a beautifully worked layette had been received and it was decided to hold a competition to raise funds for the needy. A further donation of a tray from Airs H. Alillard was gratefully received lor competition in aid of tlie sewing circle. Airs AV. Alontgomery reported on the activities of the sewing circle, which had been meeting at the home; of Airs Hodgson. The work was going’ very well and offers of outside help had been received. She commended the work of the secretary (Aliss AI. Alatheson), who had lent valuable assistance.'
