DEFENCE OF A DOG.
PALMERSTON NORTH INCIDENT. WELLINGTON, Aug. 6. The owner of a dog which bit a boy in Palmerston North on May 25 pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court, Wellington, before Air J. L. Stout. S.M., yesterday, to failing to keep it under proper control. She was Ada Isabel Edwards, and she is now living in AYeliington. Subrlnspector L. R. Capp. who prosecuted, said that a hoy aged 15 was delivering groceries to the house, in Palmerston North where defendant was living, and as he was about to mount his bicycle the dog rushed out and bit him above the ankle, making a wound about a.n inch long. The dog had not previously bitten anyone, but had previously attacked the boy. In defence of the dog, Air 0. C. Alazengarb said it was in Court for the Alagistrate to sec what tvpe of animal it was. If the case had been defended, he was sure no conviction would have been entered
The Magistrate" said he would not order the destruction of the dog. but would impose a fine of £l, with costs 196.
