The bread nut tree is a native of the Island of Jamaica, in the British AVest Indies. The so-called nuts are berries about an inch across, which when roasted or boiled have the flavour of hazel nuts and make excellent food. About the fruit are lance-like leaves and simple yellow flowers in globular heads
