TIDAL WAVE IN JAPAN.
TOKIO, Aug. 2. Hie Asahi Shimbun’s correspondent at Sapporo says that scores' of people are dead and missing as a result of a tidal wave which struck the western coast of Hokkaido. Fifteen hundred fishing boats were washed away.
