OBITUARY.
MRS ELLEN PENBERTHY. A highly respected resident of Newbury. Mrs Ellen Penberthy, passed away on July 23. Born in Dudley, Worcestershire, England, she was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Williams, and came to New Zealand at the age of 14 years. Her marriage to Mr Henry Penberthy took place at Feilding in 1882. Mrs Penberthy had resided in the Eeilding and Palmerston North district for the past CO years. Mrs Penberthy was predeceased by her husband, two sons and two daughters. and there are left to mourn her passing five sons and three daughters and sixteen grandchildren. The family comprises: Mrs A. Mingins (Feilding), Mrs J. Kendall (Auckland), Mrs I Donaldson (Ashhurst), Messrs Arthur (Wanganui), Bert (Gishorne), Will. Mason and Hector Penberthy (Newbury). Mrs Penberthy was of a quiet disposition. devoted to her home and family. and a loyal friend. To the family much sympathy has been extended in their bereavement. The funeral, which took place at the Feilding cemetery, was preceded by a service at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Palmerston North, conducted by Rev. C. Eaton. The pall-hearers were the five sons and Mr Hector Mingins (a grandson).
