COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS.
HELP FOR PATRIOTIC PURPOSES. There ' were- about fifty commercial travellers, residing in this district, present at a meeting held to-dav to discuss, what form the local travellers’ efforts would take towards the various appeals which are being made. It was decided that every traveller in the district. of whom there are about 300, should make a donation of £1 Is or more to the association’s gift to the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund. In a short space of time over £SO was received from those present. According tp the rules of the association, 10 per cent.' of the amount taken is to be given to the Blinded Sailors and Soldiers’ Fund. A strong committee ol 'L’2 was elected with Mr P. Aekins as chairman. The other officers are Messrs F. Jones (secretary), R. Currie (assistant-secretary) and J. Forsyth (treasurer).
