HARRIERS’ OUTING.
Four miles worn covered by the Feilding harriers on Saturday in a run which commenced from Mr Batten’s residence in Denbigh Street and included two miles along the Halcombe Road. Eight harriers participated. 11. Moss outpaced R. Lambcrton aud E. Batten who had beaded the field, and went, on to reach the finishing post 50 yards in front of Laniberton, who was followed '6O yards back by Batten. Haycock was fourth'. Laniberton and Batten secured first and second fastest times respectively. Next to finish were J. Duncan, L. Moore, L. Raynor and E. Strawbridge in that order, the last-mentioned winning the trophy presented by the vicecaplain (E. Batten). Official results are: IT. Moss (3min), 22min 4scc, 1; R. Lamberton (scr), 19min 14scc, 2; E. Batten (lmin 30see), 21min 7sec, 3: J. Haycock (3min lOsec), 23min llsec, 4. After the race the runners were entertained at afternoon tea at the residence of Mr and Mrs Batten, and on behalf of the harriers the president of the club (Mr A. Webb) and R. Laniberton (captain) expressed their thanks for the hospitality.
