RANGITIKEI V. WANGANUI B.
In a fast and even contest the Wanganui B team boat Rangitikei by 11 points to 6 at Wanganui. The Wanganui backs were the more constructive set, though individual play by their opponents, and brisk passing were features of the game. Both sets of forwards toiled hard in both sessions of the match. Until lie was injured, A. B. Marshall, the Rangitikei full-back, justified himself with sound positional play, and kicked with plenty of length and tackled cleanly. J. McAlpino made some fine runs, but both A. Renshaw and D. Hammond were unable to make headway against solid tackling. S. Ireland and D. Ashford were hard working forwards for Rangitikei. For Wanganui, tries were scored by C. Wilson and M. Shewan. F. Thompson converted one try and kicked a penalty goal. A. Lee and N. Illston scored for Rangitikei.
