FINAL APPEAL
FRANCE TO AMERICA. OTHERS’ TURN TO HELP. . (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) PARIS, June 14. The Premier (M. Reynaud), in his broadcast, said: “Amidst our misfortunes we must emphasise again and again the heroism of the French army and people. France’s spirit cannot be broken by invasion. All free men must now know that the moment has come for preventing Hitler from succeeding. The French Army is only the advance guard of the world’s free men, but in losing this battle we have inflicted great losses and greatly damaged the enemy’s morale. “We know the world’s admiration for France, hut now France has the right to turn round and say to the other Democracies, ‘lt is your turn now.’ 1 have repeatedly asked Mr Roosevelt to send the Allies all possible legal help. To-day 1 have finally appealed to him. “There is no longer a time for lialf-heartcd measures. The struggle continues for France’s very life. The hardships of the battle are increasing daily, but wo increasingly hop© for the common victory of Democracy.”
