NATIONAL CLUB.
A very active sewing circle has been formed by the women’s section of the Palmerston North branch of the National Party, meeting weekly, to sew under the direction of Mrs Briden Jones (convener) and Mrs Gillot (secretary). This month the work has been for the refugees and enough clothing to fill a large trunk lias already been collected. . , The monthly bridge party ol the National Club was held tins -week, the rooms being crowded. Bowls ol mixed flowers formed effective decorations. Prizes, which had been donated bv Mesdames A. Fitzherbert and J. H. AVlivte, were won by Mesdames A. Seifert and M. Palmer (contract), Mesdames M. Davison and J. Reid (auction). The committee responsible for the arrangements comprised Mesdames D. Black (convener), H. G. Mills J. H. Whyte. K. Clayton. M. Palmer, N. Ratcliffe and R. Davis.
