WORKS GUTTED.

LOSS OF AIACHINERY. Per Press Association. TIMAIIU, June 14. Damage estimated at £ISOO was caused by a,-' fire which broke out shortly before noon to-day at the wool scouring works of W. Taylor and Coy., Saltwater Creek. The building housing the wool-drying plant was gutted and the machinery destroyed. Part of the loss was covered by insurance. The fire broke Opt as the men were starting up the drying plant and spread too quickly to keep in check. The cause of the outbreak is not known. The loss of the machinery is the more severe at the present time when it may prove difficult to replace.
