MANAWATU RABBIT BOARD.
Trustee B. G. Gower presided at the meeting of the Manawatu Rabitt -Board, field at Foxton. Account.; amountirlg to £79 9ci 7d were passed for payment. The scheme No. 13b for the destruction of noxious weeds and the Government subsidy for the work were discussed. It was pointed out that if a married man was engaged for (he work 9s a day subsidy was received and for a single man only 6s was paid in subsidy. The daily wage was 16s. No action was taken in the matter. The inspector (Mr D. R. Barron) reported that he had been engaged on general inspection work following up the notices sent out for general strychnine poisoning and fumigation of the burrows. The weather during the month was not favourable from a poisoning point of view, but the results so far obtained were good. Good work was being done in connection with the clearing of noxious weeds in the I board’s area.
