Mrs Basil, Marsack is a Palmerston North visitor to Auckland. Mrs G. Little, of Palmerston North, is visiting friends in Auckland. . Mr and Mrs B. Elphick, who left Palmerston North to live in Timaru, will return, to take up their residence in the city at the end of June. Miss llhene Bain, of Invercargill, has been staying a few days with Mrs James Hunter, late of Invercargill, at the residence of her parents, Mr and Mrs J. T, Burrell, Bourke Street. Miss Bain leaves for Wanganui on Saturday on her way further north. News has been received that Mr and Mrs l' 1 . Slater will shortly return to Palmerston North from Australia, where they visited Mr Slater’s mother in Melbourne and also journeyed to Brisbane for the wedding of a nephew who is a member of the Australian Air Force. Cabled advice was recently received by. Mi's H. Sladden, of Lower Hutt, that her daughter, Miss Eileen Sladden, who is ah army nurse, is’ back in London from . France. Miss Sladden, who was trained at. Wellington and at the Palmerston North Hospital, was in London when war broke out.
