HOROWHENUA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, June 12. Several burglaries have taken place here. A window in Messrs, Bills Bros.’ grocery premiscs was broken and £2 15s taken; Mr Eason’s shop was broken into and boots stolen; and from Mr D. Debreceny’s chocolates, etc., were taken. A visit was also paid to the Packakariki tea-rooms and articles taken.
Mr D. Murphy is a patient in the Palmerston North hospital. Mr, Harold Jepson, who represented the R.S.A. at a reunion at Auckland, has returned to Otaki. The funeral of the late Mr R. Nicholls took place at Otaki yesterday and was well attended, among the number present being several footballers. *
