BED CROSS APPEAL
£6OOO MARK PASSED. In connection with the Bed Cross Appeal Fund in the Zone E District the treasurer (Mr C. . H. Tate) announces that he has received word from Ashhurst that the canvass in that area has been completed and the total receipts, amounting to £429 19s lid, have been placed in the Post Office Savings Bank meanwhile. A further district list received yesterday from Foxton (£377 18s 9d) brings the total in Zone E up to well over £<3ooo, and with Huuterville and Kiwitea lists still to come in it is now estimated by the treasurer that close on £7OOO will be reached. On Tuesday afternoon, Mr Tate also received £376 14s 6d from the collectors in the Carnarvon-Rongotea area. Donations made direct to the treasurer include one of £5 5s from Mr and Mrs G. M. Moffitt.
