MARTON, April 19. At the annual meeting of the Marlon subccntrc of the Red Cross Society, Mr K. Purnell presided. Officers elected arc: President, Mr Purnell: vice-presidents. Messrs F. J. At the annual meeting of the UuitedTutacnui Ladies’ Hockey Club on Thursday evening, Mr T. E. Barton presided. Officers elected were :—-Patron, Mr E. B. Gordon, M.P.: president, Mr T. E. Barton; vice-presidents, Sutcliffe Bros, and 24 others were elected; delegate to Association, Mr F. Heath; chaperons, Mrs W. 11. Coles (A team). Mrs A. H. Wing (B team) , captain, Mrs I. Hammond; vice-captain, Miss M. Dales: secretary and treasurer, Miss i\l. Denbow; selectors, captain and coach; coach, Mr J. Button. The secretary was instructed to send a letter of sympathy to Rev. W. B. Cuming in his recent bereavement. A letter is also to be forwarded to Mr T. Low expressing good wishes for a speedy recovery from the injuries he sustained in an accident. The closing of the Marton Croquet Chib’s season took place on Thursday afternoon. At the conclusion of competitions, Mrs F. A. Templeman, president, congratulated the winners of the trophies competed for during the season and presented them to the following: Rose Bowl, Mrs L. True; runner-up, Mrs F. Williams : Thomson Cup, Airs M. Watson; runner-up, Mrs L. Smith; Miss Keren’s Cup, Mrs A. Moore; Yankee Tournament, Mrs F. Williams. The competition winners during the afternoon were: Golf . croquet, Mrs F. Williams; basin, Mrs 11. Wysocki; feather hoop, Mrs L. True; crazy croquet, Mrs E. Williams.
