COLYTON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) COLYTON, April 18. Mrs H. Boatson presided at a meeting of the Women’s Institute. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs A. *T. Humphrey in her recent bereavement. Mrs J. Sporle and Miss M. Smith were elected delegates to the Oroua Federation meeting. Arrangements were completed in conjunction with the farewell functions organised for soldiers leaving the district, and Mrs J. Shortall was elected to supervise the arranging of hostesses to preside at the supper for each farcw'ell. Mesdamcs J. Thurston, J. Shortall and N. Shortall, and Messrs N. Pearce and N. Shortall were appointed to inquire about means of beating water for supper room requirements. A lecture on home nursing was given by Mrs Mulvaney, of Feilding, who was accorded thanks. The competition for the best bloom resulted : Mrs J. Thurston 1, Mrs N. Shortall 2. The hostesses were Mesdamcs T. A. Smith, W. S. Smith, and J. Thurston.
