NEW ZEALAND AIRMEN
CORPORAL DECORATED. LONDON, March 22. Air-Chief Marshal Ludlow Hewitt and the High Commissioner for New Zealand (Mr W. J. Jordan) inspected a large number of airmen at a hangar at the East Anglian bomber station, including New Zealand officers and men who recently carried out their oneration —a sweep over the North Sea. Mr Jordan presented the D.F.M. to Corporal Knight. He said: “On behalf of the New Zealand Government and people I want to say how proud we arc of the part you pl;//ed.” Mr Jordan said that he was greatly impressed by what he had seen. It was striking, proof of the R.A.F.’s ability to hit hack and keep on hitting. Corporal C. B. G. Knight, is the son of Mrs K. K. Knight, of Picton, and is 27 years old. lie was formerly a corporal in the Nelson-Marlborough Mounted Rifles, transferring to the R.N.Z.A.F. in 1931. Previously he was employed with the lost and Telegraph Department at Seddon.
