RECRUITING DRIVE
There arc now 9CO enlistments for the Special Force at the Palmerston North Defence Office, live recruits having registered since, noon on Tuesday. The latest recruits are Messrs R. L. Harvey, T. H. York. S. W. Boreham, _J’. F. Guthrie, and J. S. T. Parsons. Mr K. S. Berriman has registered for home defence. At Tuesday’s medical board 44 men were examined, 36 being passed fit, five as temporarily unfit and three as permanently unfit.
