HAWKE CUP MATCH. MANAW AT U TEAM. The following Hawke Cup team has been announced by the sole selector (Mr A. M. Ongley) to represent the Manawatu Cricket Association in the challenge at Easter by the Bay of Plenty Association: W. E. Norris (captain, Palmerston), T. Pritchard (Palmerston), T. Downes (City), C. McVicar (City), S. McVicar (City), W. Pollitt (Palmerston), F. Collis (City), A. Carlisle (City), I. Hearsey (City). G- Robertson (Palmerston), C. E. Barraud (Old Boys). P. Spelman (United) is twelfth man. The match is to open at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday. The Bay of Plenty side has a reputation of being strong in batting. Included is L. R. Spring, who has played representative cricket for both Manawatu and Auckland.
