EXTRACTS FROM “STANDARD.” MARCH 20, 1010. Further statistics compiled by th« Department of Agriculture showed that there would bo a great reduction in the amount of grain harvested. In a number of instances the threshing had yielded 25 to 50 per cent, less than was indicated when the grain was stacked. The Vickers firm had nearly completed the building of a naval airship 500 ft. in length, stated a London cablegram. The gas container had been constructed from a metal seven times stronger than aluminium.
The Pahiatua District High School, recently opened, had been destroyed by fire.
