RUGBY FOOTBALL.

OLD BOVS CLUB. Mr K. W. Eglinton presided at the annual meeting of tile Old Boys Rugby Football Club last evening. There was a large attendance of ■'players and former members of the clubIn reviewing the past season’s activities the president congratulated the teams on their efforts. He also extended a welcome to Sergeant F. L. Irvine, who was home on leave. He also mentioned the names of other members of the club who had enlisted for service overseas. It was decided to donate £o 5s to the Fighting Services Appeal Fund. It was also decided to forward a letter 1 hanking Sergeant-Major J. Ryan, who is in Trentham Camp, for his services as coach of the teams. Messrs A. Keith, G. Buick, N. Hardic, G. Roots, H. Stenberg, B. Wishnoski, N. Finnic, J. G. Palon, and J. Hardic were elected members. The election of officers resulted: Patron. Mr J. W. Rutherford; president, Mr Eglinton; vice-presidents, Messrs J.’Murray, A. E. Mansford, J. A. Colqiihoun, R. Palmer. A. H. Northovcr, G. V. Simpson; club captain, Mr A. McNeile; committee, Messrs N. Gallichan, J. Marriott, G. Dawick, P. B. Trow, C. 14. Barraud; trustees. Messrs Mansford, Rutherford W. E. Norris; auditor, Mr D. G. Glendinning; secretary. Mr W. H. Simmons; dance secretaries, Messrs Simmons and W. Shannon (assistant). The usual donation was made to the Boys’ High School sports fund. The first day practice is to be bold on April G aud night practice on March 26. Messrs Eglinton, G. Dawick, B. Palmer. C. E. Barraud, Simmons and A. Shand were appointed the delegates to the annual meeting: of tho Manawatu Rugby Union. Messrs McNeile, R. Carson. N. Gallichan and Simmons were appointed a committee to make arrangements for the picnic. Teams are to be entered in the senior, junior and third grade competitions.
