board meeting. The Willard Children’s Home Board met on Monday, when Mrs E. A. Collins presided. Other members present were Mesdames K. C. Barnett, J. A. AlcLeavey, K. McDonald, D. J. Lovelock, A. C. I l '.vans, J. B. Sankey C. Greig, N. RatelifFc, D. Watson, A! J. Andrews, Miss M. Cranston and Mrs E. B. Jennings (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mcsdnmes B. Port and G. H. Bennett. The secretary reported on arrangements regarding the papering and painting to be done at the home, also that a motor shod had been erected. Mrs Batcliffe was accorded a vote of thanks for giving two tables to the home. A vote .of thanks was also accorded Mr Heath, who had presented a wireless set. The president reported on her visit to tile home which, she said, was in a very satisfactory state.' '-.The report of the matron (Miss L. Harper) stated that the health and conduct of the children had been excellent, except for a few very slight colds. Miss G. Laurenson (sub-matron) had been indisposed but had now resumed her duties. Miss Sapwell had assisted during her absence. The matron expressed her thanks to the donors of useful and necessary things for the home. During Miss Laurenson’s absence the senior boys and girls had been very willing and helpful. The matron also reported that she was accompanying the senior children to Wellington to visit the Exhibition. Four children were to be admitted to the home temporarily, . bringing the number to 29, for three weeks.—The .report 'was received and the admissions unproved. Mesdames Barnett and B. B. Bnl>ertson were appointed visitors’ to the home for the ensuing month.
