BRITISH FARMER FINED. Received February 22. 915 a.m. LONDON. Feb. 21. An .Ashbourne farmer was fined £25 with 10s costs for foiling to plough up bis land in accordance with instructions from tile County War Agriculture Committee. The Court told defendant the committee was empowered to confiscate his farm for cultivation if he continued to disobey the committee’s instructions SUBSTANTIAL FINE. Received February 22. 11.25 a.m. LONDON. Feb. 21. George Tailby was to day fined £IOO for the offence, under the Finance Regulations, of failing to offer the Government twentv thousand American dollars. This is the first prosecution of its kind.
