DEPUTATION TO MINISTER.

CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. Fob. 20. A private deputation from the executive of the Associated Chandlers of Commerce of New Zealand waited on the Minister of Finance (Hon. M. Nash) to-day and discussed with him various matters arising oht of the recent annual conference. The deputation was headed by the president, Mr W. F. Mac Gibbon, of Christchurch, j and the subjects discussed included defence, the monetary system and the Reserve Bank, the cost of public works, measures for securing maximum primary production, modification of the import licensing system, the hospital rate in relation to the social security scheme, arul *hc tnuis-lasniaii air service. Mr Nash indicated the Government policy on certain of these matters ana undertook that the others would be considered.
