GERMAN SYMPATHY.
WITH IRON GUARD
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. 23. World opinion is unlikely to he impressed by the German accusation that Britain was responsible for the assassination of M. Calinescu. As is /well-known, M. Calinescu was well disposed toward Britain. On the other hand, it is notorious that the Iron Guard organisation, which is openly anti-democratic in outlook and is known to enjoy the support of Germany, was determined to avenge itself on M. Calinescu, who had disbanded the organisation. It had already attempted to murder him in February. When action was taken against the Iron Guard there was a great outburst of indignation in Nazi circles.
