Beau Vile cleared up any doubts that might have remained eoneerriing'the Derby position. 110 gave his Ihree opponents a good start to the turn and beat them easily by two lengths and a-half, with alenglh and a-half between Reading and High Caste. Time, 1.51.

A decision will be mado to-morrow whether Defaulter is to retul-n to New Zealand forthwith. Unless be resumes solid training by to-morrow lie will be scratched for all spring engagements.
