STOWAWAY CHARGED.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Aug. 16. A man was found aboard the AVanganclla without a ticket when it was leaving Sydney for Auckland, where it arrived to-day. When his presence became known, supported by a rope he was sent over the liner’s side and lowered to the wharf. Another unauthorised passenger who eluded detection, Reginald James Cornish, aged 24. pleaded guilty before Mr Morling in the Police Court to-day to a charge of stowing away. The Magistrate granted probation for one year and ordered him to pay the fare, £9.
