TIAKITAHUNA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) TIA KIT AII UNA, July 15. There was a good attendance at tho monthly meeting of the Women’s Institute. Mrs 11. N. McEwen presided, and m the absence of the secretary (Mrs M Levey) Miss IS. McEwen assisted. It was decided to forward a donation to St. Andrew's Drama Circle in appreciation of the play reading they staged in the local hall recently. Mrs Crouchcr and Miss E. Voss were' elected to attend the group coinmttee meeting in August. An invitation was received from the Kairanga Institute to their birthday dance. A lecture on china painting and research work was given by Mrs Bowler Watson and was much appreciated. A roll-call, “My best hint,” proved most helpful. The competition for shoe trees was won by Mrs Fell 1, Miss E. McEwen 2, Miss K. Walker 3; best bloom, Mrs F. McEwen 1, Mrs D. Howland 2, Mrs A. Mitchell 3. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Lover and B. Mitchell. A social in aid of tho church funds was held in the hall on Saturday evening. Rev J. W. Martin welcomed those present’ and the following presented vocal items: Miss M. Rowland, Mrs Fell, Miss L. McDonald, Messrs S. Rowland, Brown and Martin; Messrs S. and D. Rowland presented a vocal duet. Mr Martin took the opportunity of wishing bon voyage to Mr and Mrs 11. Voss and Miss Voss, Mr and Mrs N. P. Neilscn, and Mr .1. Fraser, who are leaving shortly on an Hand cruise.
