(From Our Own Correspondent:.) COLYTOX, June 17.

'J’he C'olvton and Waituna Young Farmers’ Clubs iriet in the second round of the Vi'os Shield inter-dub debating competition. Mr R. Short all was in the chair and the representatives of the dubs were: Colyton, Messrs C. Burr (leader), L. Thurston X. Williamson; W'aiiunn, Messrs K. Spillman (leader), I. Old, R. Meads. The subject was, “That the tractor can economically supersede the horse lor general farm work,” Colyton talcing the affirmative side. Mr C. K Taylor, of Feilding, acted as adjudicator and deal very ing, acted as adjudicator, and dealt very stating in detail the faults lie had observed, and bow they should bo corrected. Mr Taylor named Mr Thurston as the best speaker in the debate, the winner of which was Colyton by the narrow margin of seven points. 'Details of points awarded were as follows: Colyton.
