-MISCELLANEOUS CASES. -Mi’. Jl. ]’. Lawrv presided over a of the Palmerston North Magistrate's Court yesterday.
A young mechanic, whose name was suppressed, was admitted to probation for a year for tlio theft of an electric motor. ,Mr. J. AV. Rutlierfurd said accused had been employed by a city firm for over five years and his employment there was still open to him. Ivan AVilliam Thomas JeWet-t was eliaiged that, on .July 10, while in a state of intoxication, lie was in charge of a motor-vehicle. 011 the application of -Mr. 0. Tremaine, who entered a plea of not guilty, accused was remanded to appear on Monday next. S. M. Hnlena was charged with driving a motor-vehicle when not the holder of a driver’s licence and with driving without due care and attention. The first charge was dismissed and on tlio second defendant was fined 30s and ordered to pay 15s costs. IT. Y. Robinson, charged with driving a motor-vehicle without a warrant of fitness, was fined £l, with 12s costs. A fine of £2, with 12s costs, was imposed on AA r . F. Reeves for driving a vehicle with insufficient lights. A similar penalty was imposed on Alex. G. Dear for driving a heavy lorry at a speed in excess of 25 m.p.li.. creating a breach of the Traffic Regulations, j
