MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Per Press Association. WANGANUI, July 1 Vernon Dilmont Clark Bray, aged 19, a railway surfaceman, was sentenced to two months’ hard labour by Mr. Coleman, S.DL, for assaulting a girl of 104 years travelling on a train between Dlarton and Hunterville on June 30.
John Charles Beecher, aged 24, was sentenced to six months’ hard labour on nine charges of the theft of bicj'oles, ten of the theft of spare wheels and tyres of motor-cars, and for the theft of a saddle and petrol. The bicycles were stolen in Wanganui when Beecher was employed as a farm labourer at Waverley and sold there, the numbers being removed.
