BADMINTON.
DIANAWATU BEATEN. The Manawatu representative bndminton team travelled to Wellington on Saturday to play a match against the Wellington team and were beaten by 14 matches to two. The contest took place in the Winter Show buildings, and the most notable performance was put up by C. Sheerin, who accounted for E. A. Roussell, the New Zoaland representative and prominent. lawn tennis player, 15 —10, 15 —B. The only ether Manawatu victory was in the mixed doubles, DTiss McDonald and Sheerin beating Dliss Fleming and Roussell. The visiting side consisted of Dlisses Rodden, DfcPonald, Angove and Ross, and Dlossrs Sheerin. W. Jensen, E. Christmas and H. Margison. Following the match players from both sides were present at a farewell party to members of the Wellington team who are leaving this week for Australia with the New Zealand sido.
