Reuter's have received a wireless message from the steamer St. Louis reporting that the 942 Jewish passengers aboard have cabled AlrCham--1 Kirillin pleading for an asylum in Britain. or at least permission to land at Southampton They declare it is impossible to return to Hamburg and their position is desperate, especially' the women and children.
