SAMOA CELEBRATES.

TUNG'S BIRTHDAY. APIA, June 10. On Friday morning at 9 o'clock a large number of residents, including all nationals and Samoans, assembled at the Administration buildings to celebrate the King’s birthday. The AefingAdminisfrator (Mr A. C. Turnbull) and Mr 0. F. Nelson (senior elected member of th(> Samoan Legislative Council), spoke op liehalf of the iraut.ua, as also did members of the conned and Fono Faipule. A guard of honour of returned soldiers and Samoan police was inspected by the Acting-Administrator. The Samoan Territorial Force made its first public appearance on parade with a platoon of 10 men in the command of Lieutenant A. S. Baity. A Boval salute of 21 guns was fired. A ball at Government House, Yauinia, was held in the evening.
