BACONER EXHIBITION.

RECORD ENTRIES THIS YEAR

Ono of the outstanding sections at the Show is the havener exhibition, 120 entries —a record —having come forward. This feature has been well to tho fore for the past 12 years and has largely contributed towards fostering the interests of the pig industry so that fanners and all others interested may follow the results of breeding and management right through from the birth of tiie animal until it is killed arid cured. Able assistance in connection with this exhibition has been given bv the local branch of the New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association, Recording Clubs. IXstrict Council, and members of the Bacon (hirers’ Association. Through the co-operation of these bodies, farmers have been enabled, through the medium of the Shows, to investigate many problems having a direct bearing on carcase quality, together with many other aspects connected with the economy of production and the marketing of baconers.
