WINTER SPORTS
BRITISH EMPIRE GAMES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 9. The opinion that Australian nd New Zealand suffer in their relations with the United States of America, particularly when compared with Canada and' South Africa, through not having official representatives in the United' States, was expressed bv Air T. F. Mitchell, of Victoria, on his arrival. Air Alitchell, who has won the New Zealand ski-ing championship three times, has been at Harvard University taking a special course on international relations and American diplomacy. Air Alitchell said he did little ski-ing abroad, hut ho coached his wife, who gained many successes in several countries. She won the downhill championship of Canada and the Argentine, was runner-up at the championship meeting at Quebec, and liftli in the national American championship. The possibility of holding British Umpire winter, games was investigated by Mr Alitchell. Canadians received the idea with enthusiasm, and so did British skiers, he said. Jt was possible that Australia and New Zealand would be invited to the international races at Banff, Alberta, in two years’ time.
