WEDDINGS.

CAVER HILL—McLEOD. A very attractive wedding was solemnised at t> p.m. on Saturday, -May 27. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Palmerston North, the couple being Klsie Ruth, youngest daughter of Air and Airs D.AtoLeod, of Ashley Street, Palmerston North, and Winston .John (Jack), only son of Air and Mrs H. V. C'uverliill, of Rongotea. Rev. .1. Hubbard, At. A.. H. 7)., officiated, while Air A. J. Graham presided at the organ. The church had been artistically decorated by the bridosmaids and friends, and ns the bride entered the church, escorted by her father, she looked a picture, of loveliness. Her gown was of ivory daisy embossed satin; the panelled skirt was tightfitting at the waist, forming a Hare with a long oval train; the bodice was slightly gathered into a luilf-moon shape; a high-rolled collar finished the neckline, and from neck to waist at the back, and also on the wrists of the long. light-fitting sleeves, were hand-made marguerites. From a coronet of orange blossom 101 l a hand-em-broidered tulle veil (kindly lent by a cousin of (he bride) to form a second train. Gold shoes peeped out from beneath the gown as she walked up the aisle, carrying a trailing bouquet of cream chrysanthemums, ncrine lilies, and pale pink carnations. In attendance were two bridesmaids. Miss Joyce Caverhill (chief), sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Alnsie Unigent, supported by two flower girls, Xola. and Joan McKenzie, nieces of the bride. All were frocked alike in rainbow colours of pink, blue. green and lemon, respectively, the material being sprigged Swiss organic over taffeta. Peter Pan collars with posies at the neck began the frocks, light-fitting to the waist, and falling with wide-flared skirts finished with narrow velvet •sashes and large puffed sleeves. Gold shoes and long white gloves, and artificial top-knots of flowers, were worn by all lour. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink and blue hydrangeas, pink nerine lilies, and pink carnations, while the little flower girls, each carrying posies of lemon and green, completed a very pretty bridal party.

Mr I’. McMinn. of Palmerston North. carried out the duties of best man. while Mr It. Burke, also of Palmerston North, aoted as groomsman. The ushers in the ehnreh were Mr T. Mills and Mr K. Blake. During the signing of the register. Mr Geo. Houston sang the song ‘'God Keep You.” The guests, who were later entertained at the T’.D.C. tearooms, were received hv the bride's mother. Mrs D. McLeod, who was dressed in black remain with inset of lace, and accessories to tone. Site carried a posy of deep scarlet roses. Assisting her was Mrs H. A'. Caverhtil. mother of the bridegroom, atitred in black figured niatalasse and lace, her posy, being of pink roses and carnations. The beautiful three-tiered cake made hv the bride's mother, was iced in cream, the decorations embodv-; iug the four colours worn by tlio bride’s attendants. It. was verv much admired. Mr Hubbard carried out the duties of toastmaster in his usual excellent manner, and the time-hon-oured toasts, interspersed with musical items by Mr G. Houston and Mr H. I’ierard. with .Mrs Pierard as accompanist. were, tendered to the young couple and their respective parents, while the best man was engaged for some time reading the numerous telegrams of congratulations from till parts of the Dominion

Stewart, Guyton Street. Wanganui. The eeremony was performed hv Ttev. F. 1?. Chambers. and Afiss Ca.rrnd played the wedding music. ' The bride entered the eliurch. which had been decorated lor the occasion by a friend, with her father. She wore a frock of rich magnolia embossed satin, moulded oil slim-fitting lines. 'Pm bodice featured an unusual niched effect, and the skirt, which was .slightly trained, was trimmed with a hand of lace. The embroidered tulle veil, which was worn off the face, was held in place l>v a circlet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of deep cream chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. Attending the bride were Misses Hetty Hurst (chief) and Aluriel Reid (Foildimr). cousin of the bride. They were attired alike in lavender organdie over satin. The frocks featured scalloped necklines and very full puff sleeves. The gored skirts were fil-j ting to the hips and then fell in a full flare to tlie hemline. At the necks of the frocks were worn sprays of violet-shaded flowers, and worn on their heads were top-knots in the same shades. Finishing their ensembles were lavender mittens and silver shoes, and their bouquets were of lavender and pink sweet pens and pink chrysanthemums. Mr Leslie Field, brother of the bride, was best man. and Air Albert Wei ton acted as groomsman.

j The reoeptinn was held at the Yicj foria Hall, where ilie bride’s mother reeeivet! the guests wearing a tailored i costume and smart hat in bottle green. Tier accessories were matching and she carried a posy of toning flowers. Assisting her was the bridegroom's mother, -who was attired in a navy model frock, with matching hat. Her posy was of deep rod flowers. The beautiful wedding cake was in the shape of a heart, and was made and decorated by Mrs f!. Warden, of Araninho.
