THE WRONG GREETING.
MISHAP TO PILOT TRAIN. Received June 9, 10.25 a.m. i BALTIMORE (Maryland), June 8. For the first time for 8000 miles the Roval train travelled without a pilot to-day. A hot axle-box stopped the pilot "train 85 miles north of Harnsburgh. The Royal train continued for some distance alone, then another locomotive was pressed into service lor the pilot train. A "ter 90 minutes <lelay the pilot train with 100 international correspondents on board, began at /5 miles an hour to attempt to overtake the Roval train, and was everywhere greeted bv massed crowds who, as the pilot train was second, thought it was the Roval train. Their Majesties’ arrival at Washington was not witnessed by the international correspondent!: as tie pilot train tailed to overtake the Royal train.
