HIGHWAY WORK
FEILDING-HALCOMBE ROAD. General satisfaction with the good progress made in improvements on tlic T cildiitg-Halcombe Road was voiced tit the monthly meeting of the Uroua County Council, yesterday, when the engineer (.Mr R. U. Harding) was congratulated upon his efiieieiicy ill connection with the work. 'The chairman ( » ■. A. Campbell) said that the two miles that had been reconstructed would he sealed under the authority issued, but it was also proposed to continue reconstruction ol the remaining distance to 1 lalcomhe, and it was hoped to have that work completed before the end of the year. Air Harding said that surveys had been completed for the new alignment, and it was his intention to carry on with the reconstruction work.
