WASHED OFF FORD.
PASSENGER MISSING FROM CAR. Per Press Association. THAMES, June 8. A mining foreman of New Guinea, Air s Frederick Woods, aged 59, is reported missing alter a car wherein be was passenger was washed off the Coroglen ford on tbe Afercury Bay-Tliamcs Road early yesterday afternoon. Following heavy rains overnight a considerable amount of water was running over the ford and the car was washed off the concrete apron into the stream. It was carried downstream until it was washed into a dee]) hole. Tlie driver was a man named Gruemfield, a veterinary surgeon of Hamilton, and also passengers were Mrs V.' Woods and Aliss I. AYoods, the wife and daughter respectively of the missing man. When Aliss AYoods has recovered from the water artificial respiration was necessary before she came to. The wife and daughter live in Hanv’lton. A search party is seeking Air Woods.
