CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.

LADIES’ GUILD. The monthly meeting of the Congregational Ladies’ Guild was held on Tuesday, Mrs J. A. 'Wilkinson, presiding. The meeting opened with prayer. Apologies for absence were received from Afesdamcs Lyon and Greig. Airs Mundy was asked to convey the sympathy of the meeting to Mrs Greig, who is indisposed. Airs "Wilkinson, who was the speaker, was elected president pro tern. Her subject was “Love,” and she told of many incidents of the ’ wonderful devotion to duty hv the Salvation Army lassies in the slums of London —duties which would have been impossible to carry out were it not for the Divine love in their hearts. On the motion of Airs Xicholls, the speaker was accorded a vote of thanks. Arrangements were made for the Day of Prayer on June 29. This day is set apart for prayer by all the Congregational Churches in New Zealand, known as the Federation of Congregational Women. The meeting closed with the Benediction. During an interval, afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Alesdames Helyer and Aluijdy, who were thanked by Mrs Wilkinson.
