EXPORTS AND KILLINGS. SIX MONTHS’ STATISTICS. Exporle of meat from New Zealand dur 1 ing the six mouths of the 1938-39 season to March 31 showed increases under all heads, with the exception of pork. Chilled beef at 116.945 quarters was up by 5639 quarters, frozen beef increased by 11.399 quarters, and boneles6 beef by 59,984 bags. Shipments of lamb at 3,877,982 carcases showed an increase of 191.699 carcases. Mutton increased bv 119,639 carcases to 873,432 carcases. Pork shipments at 269.799 carcases showed a decrease of 57,607 carcases. In addition, 116.945 quarters of chilled beef (London 113,476 quarters, Southampton 3156 quarters, and Honolulu 313 quarters) were shipped during tho period, compared with 111,306 quarters in the 193738 voar. LAMB KILLINGS INCREASE. Killings show increases under all heads, with the exception of pork and boneless bobby veal. Killings of lamb for the six months were 7,330,342 carcases, compared with 6,912.368 carcases for tho corresponding period of the 1937-38 season, an increase of 417.974 carcases. Killings of mutton totalled 2.056.000 carcases, an increase of 532,014 carcases.
