VISIT TO FRANCE.
BRITISH ARMY CHIEF. TO INSPECT MAGINOT LINE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 27. Viscount Gort (Chief of the General Staff) is spending a few days in f ranco at the invitation of General Gamelin (Chief of the French General Staff. He will see an exerciso with troops and will visit the fortifications of the Maginot Line. Tho invitation was given personally by General Gamelin when Lord Gort passed through Paris last month on his return from Egypt. He is travelling by air to Franco to-morrow, and will be accompanied by Major-General H. R. Pownall (Director of Military Operations and Intelligence) and other staff officers.
