BADGKR CUP.
In a further match in the Badger Cup tennis competition Mangamutu beat. Ilukanui by 17 sets and 142 games to 7 sets and 117 games. The following are the points gamed hv the te-ams: Ifukanui 8. Kumeroa 6. Mangamutu 6 Afakomako 0. In a challenge match for the Lott Buttons, the holders, P. O’Brien and Miss N. F.tz, heat A. Jones and Miss P. O’Brien, 40—30. PERSONAL, Mr and Mrs T. S. Cottier have returned from a holiday in New Plymouth. Mr and Mrs T. Whitwell, of Okoroire. are the guest-s of Mrs Whitwell's sister, Mrs W. H. Dempsey, of Huia Street. Air P. Moriarty is at present in Rongotea, on relieving duty, before taking up a position at the Feilding Post Office. WEDDINGS. A veil of Brussels lare enriched the tunings of the hride’s ivory slipper satin gown with its sweeping circular train, when Mary Doreen, only daughter of Air and Aire C. Andrews, of Pahiatua, was married to Grant James McGregor, second son of Air and Mrs IV. J. Smith, of Apirana, Ilamua, in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church recently. The bridesmaids were Misses Dorothy Rasmussen and Nola Lynch. Mr Galland Grant, of Dannevirke, was best man and Mr Keith Smith, brother of the bridegroom, was groomsman. Rev. J. M. Simpson, of Mastcrlon, was the officiating clergyman. The wedding of Sarah, youngest daughter of the late Mr and Airs J. Foster, of Ballance. and Bernardt, second son of the late Afr and Mrs L. Larson, Ruataniwha, was solemnised at the Methodist Church. Pahiatua. recently. Rev. YV. E. Afoore officiated. The bride wore a model gown in a tomato shade, with gold shoes and a black picture hat and carried a bounuet of asparagus fern and roses to tone. The bridesmaids were Misses Rene Foster fAuckland) and Olive Foster (Ballance). Mr J. Hutton was th 6 best man.
