RESERVE PROPOSAL
SCHEME FOR COUNCIL. Arising out of a letter received from Messrs Jacobs and Grant, the Palmerston North City Council, last night, resolved that the suggestion that the council should acquire two lots on the new subdivisional plan from the estate of tho late Mr W. C. Caccia Birch, together with the small way at present reserved to the lagoon and tho lagoon itself, lie referred to the works committee, with power to act. Messrs Jacobs and Grant suggested that the council purchase the property for the. sum of £I2OO, subject to the conditions that the lagoon be preserved as a bird sanctuary, and that no boating be allowed on the lagoon, for various reasons. Cr. J. T. J. Heatley commented that the locality would make an ideal camping site, and the council decided to make an inspection next Monday afternoon.
