AUCKLAND WOOL SALE.

MAY NOT REACH JANUARY AVERAGE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 27. As the Auckland wool sale proceeded to-dav the preliminary trend was confirmed. Though the ~ bidding seemed somewhat sticky for inferior grades, the second catalogue, comprising 1035 lots and containing 9248 bales, was completed shortly after 11.30 a.in., and of this about 5 per cent, were passed unsold. Now it seems that the averages for the sale may not reach those of January, namely, 81d per lb. as to-day s offering includes a big percentage of lambs’ wool, much of which is seedy, as well as bellies and pieces, and this will bring down the general level.
